Dionne C. Thompson

As the Chief Operations Officer at Capital Asset Management Group, Dionne Cornelius Thompson is a seasoned leader with a diverse background in financial services. Her role is pivotal in shaping the firm’s strategic direction and growth. While she oversees multiple areas of the firm, her unwavering commitment to providing an exceptional client experience is her primary focus. This dedication ensures that the firm consistently delivers high-quality service to its clients, reflecting her strong leadership and the firm's commitment to excellence.  

Dionne has held significant leadership roles with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. She served as the Senior Vice President of Operations & Principal at Capital Asset Management Group from 2004 to 2011 and later rejoined the firm in 2022. Her experience also includes a role as the Director of Learning & Development for a fintech company, where she was responsible for onboarding and training financial planners. Dionne's leadership roles in sales operations and client services at one of the nation's largest Registered Investment Advisory firms for nine years further demonstrate her expertise.  Earlier in her career, she held marketing and sales support roles at two prominent insurance companies and a global investment bank.   

Dionne graduated from the University of Kentucky and holds a Series 65 security license. 

When she's not working for CAMG, Dionne's heart lies in Bethany Beach, DE, where she resides with her husband, Kyle, and their beloved dog, Ginger.  She also shares her life with two adult stepchildren, Katie and William, who live in the greater Washington, DC area, and heads south frequently to spend time with her Florida-based parents, BJ and Anita. In her free time, Dionne enjoys the simple pleasures of life-whether it's a round of golf, a day at the beach, a new travel adventure, or quality time with her family.
